Lovejoy Wharf Antique Board Whale #3646

$250.00

This is not Driftwood. It is a board that came from one of the pilings at Lovejoy Wharf in Boston. When that was repaired, they took out some of the pilings, and ripped those into planks. I was lucky enough to acquire one of these boards, which is now this whale. The black coloration happens to oak when it’s been in the ocean for more than 100 years and this Wharf was built in 1907! Likely a living tree in the 1700s! It is one of a kind for sure. 5 feet long and 9 inches wide. Signed, dated, hardware ready to hang.
